The European Low Fares Airline Association, ELFAA, announced that Volotea will be their new airline member.
John Hanlon, Secretary General of ELFAA, said: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Volotea as an airline member of ELFAA. Volotea, operating exclusively within Europe and serving predominantly European consumers and businesses, further enhances ELFAA’s credentials as a true pan-European stakeholder in legislation concerning European aviation”.
Volotea was founded in April 2012 and is headquartered in Barcelona. It operates from Venice Marco Polo and Nantes to over 50 destinations.
ELFAA represents the fastest-growing European airline sector. Its members carry around 200 million passengers a year and account for over 43% of scheduled intra-European traffic.
Today, ELFAA comprises 9 airline members which include: easyJet, Flybe, Jet2.com, Norwegian, Ryanair, SverigeFlyg, transavia.com, vueling and Wizz Air.
