Barceló launches a new tour operator

Barceló launches a new Spanish tour operator, as confirmed by various sources to preferente.com. The Majorcan group will make it official on Monday in a statement. His creation was an open secret in the main Spanish tourism circles.

With this project, the group co-directed by Simon Peter and Simon Barcelo returns to the business of wholesalers: his parents bought Turavia -owned at present by Orizonia and before by Iberostar- to Bankunión two decades ago, after the bankruptcy of the company that owned it, Cevasa.

The new tour operator will use as a brand one of which it already operates in the travel division and with a name known worldwide. In front of him is a team of executives experienced in travel business and which is still setting the staff and other team members.

In fact, this Saturday has been published in some media a notice of recruitment in order to attract qualified professionals to cover different areas. An ad that appeared without Barceló Group letterhead and without the new wholesale and somewhat cryptic in order not to give many clues.

But part of the great competition and were aware for some days. Also in the key people of Spanish tourism business. And that is the gestation of a project like this just knowing sooner or later, and in a society as small as Majorca it is.

Orizonia and Globalia and already have another competitor, although he claims to not be as high as the two main issuers. Nautalia was first and now the Barceló Group. Preferente magazine announced this scoop half a year ago.
